Reasons why your clearomizer gurgles or leaks
Many people wonder why their clearomizer gurgles or leaks and the answer is directly related to physics. A clearomizer consists of a base that is attached to a cylinder. The cylinder is strictly used for airflow. At the top of the cylinder, you will notice that there is a heating coil with a wick. Above the wick and coil, you then find a liquid sheath that prohibits liquid from going into the cylinder. The wick is supposed to keep the liquid from going inside of the cylinder and for the most part, it does this job. However, the wick can also be your worst enemy.
How Gurgling Occurs
Gurgling is a result of liquid being trapped inside of the cylinder. The gurgling sound that you hear is a combination of the air mixing with the liquid. Alternatively, gurgling could be a result of excess liquid inside of the coil area.
To understand exactly how it works physics comes into play. If you were to tip the clearomizer upside down more than likely liquid is going to go into the coil area and some of it is going to go into the inside of the cylinder. Since liquid has gotten inside of the cylinder, a gurgling sound is going to present itself when the air mixes with the liquid that is inside of the cylinder – primarily used for airflow. So, as you can see this is a simple thing that takes place while it is complicated simultaneously. Overall, once the liquid goes into the cylinder you are going to experience gurgling.
How to get it out
When it comes to getting rid of the gurgling sound there are several ways that you can do so. First, you have the option of rebuilding. However, the easiest way to get things back to normal would be to blow the liquid out with a reverse vape. This means you would blow the drip tip while the clearomizer is on a paper towel a few times until no more liquid comes out. After you are sure all of the liquid is out you leave it sitting upside down overnight with the drip tip off on a paper towel. If you do this, you should have removed all of the liquid from the cylinder, which will ultimately eliminate the gurgling noise that has been driving you insane and the next time you vape things will be back to normal.
